South MIlwaukee High School
Highlights of Job:
This was a complete addition of a new High School with the "old" building becoming the "new" middle school. Filled in part of a wooded/wetland area to provide new track, football field and athletic fields
Constructed new ponds and parking lots.
Biggest Obstacle:
Most of the building footprint needed to be undercut due to unstable/unsuitable fill that was previously dumped on site to fill in an old gravel pit. Schneider Excavating tight dug the footings for undercut , so slurry mix could be used. We used total station to layout footings to keep ahead of general contractor.
How Schneider Excavatings experience played a role in this job:
Surveyed stockpiles of undercut materials to determine if site earthwork would balance Multiple grading plans were issued throughout the progression of the job Staked curb and gutter, control pits, building corners and light poles for various contractors.
